Exhilarating.

Exhilarating is the word I would use to sum up my time so far as a ZTA Leadership Consultant. Pretty much as soon as our planes touched down we hit the ground running. (Warning, this is kind of a long one, but so much is happening!)

{My first flight, of many, as a Leadership Consultant!}
On the first night, we all went to dinner to reconnect with everyone we haven't seen since February at TLC interview weekend and our amazing Director of Field Operations, Caitlin Moulton. We got to meet up with our roommates and get rested up for our first day of training the next morning!

{My roommate, LC Lindsey}
We spent the day going over job expectations and most of our schedule for ZTA's National Leadership Conference (which is starting full-day tomorrow!) A very intense, but exhilarating schedule jam packed with sisterhood, fun, learning, and of course working with some VIZs (Very Important Zetas)!
Early in the week, we were lucky enough to lunch with one of the most important VIZs, Meghan Parker, ZTA Executive Director and former TLC.

At the end of the end of the week we skipped training and moved hotels from the Drury where we were staying the past 3 days, to the Indianapolis Hyatt Regency, where NLC (National Leadership Conference) is taking place. After we moved into our new rooms with our new roommates we had a chance to explore downtown Indy!

For lunch most of us headed to📍Dick's Last Resort, which was an absolutely hilarious experience! We took a walk around downtown, visited the "I" Am Indy" Sign and did a little shopping before heading back to the hotel and getting ready for a big group dinner.

After dinner, we met up with Vice President Collegiate I, Rachel Biggs (my collegiate National Officer) and Secretary-Treasurer, Mrs. Charles for some training on the history of the TLC Program. This was my favorite night of training to-date!
FRED (Fraternity Education) Fact: The TLC Program started in 1912 and the first ever consultant was called the "National Inspector" and her name was Rose Nelson Hughes.

My favorite part of the workshop was when Mrs. Biggs shared with us the words and advice from former ZTA Consultants.

Mrs. Biggs & I outside of IO
We heard from sisters from every generation through letters and video, about the differences and similarities of their experiences and about all of the connections they made on the road. Having the opportunity to work for the Fraternity as Consultant is such an immense honor.
We have already been welcomed into this exclusive part of our large sisterhood with such open arms from former consultants, National Council members, National Officers and ZTA staff. I am beyond excited to wholeheartedly serve my organization and the individual chapters I visit in this upcoming year.
As the week went on, we had our first full day jam-packed with training and I loved every minute of it!
We got the honor to work with most of National Council, our 3 Vice President Collegiates who are in charge of our college chapter areas, our Extension Director, who works to bring new ZTA chapters to campuses around the country and our National Secretary-Treasurer, who works with our national finances.
One of my favorite parts of the day was learning about Extension and Colonizing new chapters. This fall ZTA will be coming to Boise State in Idaho and not only will a new chapter start at Reinhardt University in Georgia, which is exciting enough, but Zeta will be the first sorority on campus! I'm very excited for Extension training part 2 later this month!
We ended the night with letters from our Province Presidents and advisors, which was so sweet and such a great motivator for the upcoming year!

As if we weren't already feeling to excited; next, we got the honor of meeting with ZTA National President Carolyn Hof Carpenter! Mrs. Carpenter got us the cutest Consultant Survival Kits for our time on the road!
