IO stands for International Office
we finally got to start our training at the heart of ZTA!

{3450 Founders Rd}
So much has been happening during our last few weeks of training!
After National Leadership Conference, we had the morning and afternoon off. Most of us took the chance to sleep in and I also spent some time at the pool! It was a nice relaxing afternoon before a week of full on training.
That night after a short training session a bunch of us went down to Broad Ripple, a town in Indy. It was so cute and offered a lot of places to eat! We also celebrated National Ice Cream day with some Cold Stone.

Tuesday was our first day at International Office! We started off the day with a tour from Patti Cords Levitte, our Historical and Archives Chairman.
I just love walking through IO and exploring the history of ZTA. I've been to IO twice now, but there are plenty of archives set up around the building and there is always something new to see.

{Our first day in the office!}

We celebrated another LC birthday our first week back into training and we did a big group dinner in Carmel, Indiana.

We went to 📍Divvy, a really cool restaurant where the idea is to "divvy" up the food and so all the plates were sharables. Our waitress, Penny was so accommodating and made the evening really fun! A lot of us got the S'mores Brûlée, which was delicious and fun fact: Divvy hand makes their own Marshmallows.

Morning Car Crew
We had a full weekend of recruitment training which was a whole new world for me because at Edinboro, we don't do primary recruitment whatsoever! It was a long weekend, but I learned so much and I'm really excited to experience a Southern Primary Recruitment!

Recruitment Training with Katie Wilkes

On Sunday we had a surprise day off! A bunch of us went to brunch at a cute local place called 📍Bub's Cafe. They are famous for their homemade granola and doughnuts, and of course, we tried both; the doughnuts were very sugary but so good!

After brunch we all went our separate ways to spend the day in different ways. Sam, Bri and I went to explore The Carmel Arts and Design District.

We went to a few local shops and then met up with some more sisters to see "Girls Trip" at the Studio Movie Grill. We only have Cinemark around us in Pennsylvania, so SMG was pretty different for me, they had really comfy seats with tables and waiters that served food and drinks while you were waiting for the movie to start!
IO Staff Crown Party
On Monday, we took over the training room to throw our Mock Crown Party! (A Crown Party is a recruitment event) We got a chance to practice our recruiting and conversation skills with the IO staff! We planned a popcorn/movie themed event: "Poppin Into ZTA".

CROWN is my forte from my experiences at Edinboro, so this type of recruitment was very fun and familiar to me! We, as consultants, also got to show how well we work as a team and every one played a part in putting together the event, we had a popcorn bar, a movie photo booth, games and a slideshow; it was a great way to end the day!
One of my most favorite days of training was on Leadership and Chapter Operations with former National President, Alice Mathews.

Mrs. Mathews was so inspiring and really kept us upbeat during a full day of training by teaching us ZTA songs and chants and doing team building activities throughout the day. She also read us some passages from her Field Consultant journal and it was so interesting to hear about her experience over 30 years ago and how similar her feelings were to ours.
FRED Fact: Mrs. Mathews is currently the only Zeta Tau Alpha National President that had previously served as a Consultant.

The view of Carmel from new IO's Rooftop Patio
We ended the night with an exclusive tour of what will soon be the new ZTA International Office from Executive Director, Megan Parker! Everyone is so excited to see and move into the new IO when it's all done.
Our consultant team is the last to train in 3450 Founders Road and we will (hopefully) be the first consultants to train in the new IO by end-of-year training.

The start of our last week of training also came with some excitement! We received our official LC name tags, ZTA business cards AND, finally, our long-awaited schedules! I am VERY excited for my first few weeks as an Leadership Consultant and I cannot wait to get on a plane to my first visit and to see what adventures I will have in all of these new places I'll be traveling to!
