Lambda Lambda Chapter
Kennesaw State University, GA

My first university sign picture;it still feels unreal that I am actually doing this job and I'm done with my first visit. I have always looked up to the consultants that visited my school and that I met throughout my time in ZTA and it feels so weird to be on the other side of things!

Wheels Up For My First Visit
I started off my visit heading straight into work week (literally right off the plane), but I was so excited to meet all of the amazing women of Lambda Lambda Chapter, so it was perfect timing! Work Week is the week before recruitment when sorority women prep for the upcoming events.
I got to stay with their Recruitment chair, New Member Educator and another sister during my visit and they were the best roomies! They shared my love of Dr. Pepper, Big Brother and Game of Thrones and made me feel right at home! During my first few day in Kennesaw they took me down to the pool and we spent the day relaxing before the craziness of recruitment kicked in!
I had been joking with the girls throughout my visit that my travel blog was going to turn into a food blog because they were taking me to so many great places to eat that I had never even heard of!
đZaxby's: A fast food chain in the South that I had never heard of (kind of like a Chick-fil-A), it was good!
đBig Pie in the Sky: Huge slices of pizza were served here and it's a KSU favorite!
đźTin Lizzy's Cantina: Described themselves as a "Hipster Mexican Restaurant"; I got the 'taco trifecta' which included a Beer Battered Lobster taco, the Chop Chop Shrimp taco and a Bacon Cheeseburger taco. The lobster was my favorite!

đšIC Hot: An Asian rolled ice cream parlor; was really good I got green tea ice cream with raspberries and white chocolate!
đBurgerFi: We had BurgerFi after a long day of recruitment and it was so worth it! Their custard root beer float was 10/10.
đ€Taziki's: Probably the best meal I have had so far! Taziki's is a Mediterranean Greek place and their homemade Baklava was amazing!
đ°Sweet Hut: This place was busy, but delicious! I finally got to try Macaroons, I got mango and strawberry ones and I also had a white chocolate mocha mousseđ

đHickory Flat, Georgia
During our weekend off from work week Lambda Lambda's sweet President, Ashley took me to her family farm; I spent the afternoon horseback riding and then we went to "Family Traditions" a local restaurant, for a real southern meal.
Anyone that knows me, knows that I am super picky but I told myself that I needed to try new things and take advantage of every opportunity during this exciting year.

So, I ordered country fried chicken with gravy, fried green tomatoes, fried okra, sweet bread and butter, spiced apples and of course, sweet tea. It was all SO good! The sweet tea was extremely sweet and everything was of course fried, but so yummy! I can definitely see why these foods are a staple of the South.

GO OWLS!
Halfway through my visit, a fellow Consultant, Kenedy arrived so that we could both help with recruitment. It was so nice to see a familiar face and get to work together even if it was only for a few days!
My First Recruitment Experience

{My roommates for the week! Jordan,VP2, Avery and VP3, Sarah and I during Sisterhood Round}
KSU was my first recruitment visit! The VP3, Membership, Sarah along with her roommates, committee and the whole chapter put in so much time and effort for a successful recruitment and they did such a good job.
Zeta Love is Good,
Won't You Join Our Sisterhood?

Sisterhood Round: President Ashley and I before Sisterhood round started. The chapter showed their adorable video and really started to get to know all of the women going through recruitment at KSU.

Philanthropy Round: the women were dressed in navy and pink to symbolize that 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their life. The chapter showed the National Philanthropy video and did a wonderful job decorating the room.

Preference Round: My very first preference ceremony had me in tears. The chapter did such an amazing job; the room looked wonderful, their ceremony was so heartfelt and sisters who read letters to their bigs, seniors and best friends could not have done a better job!
Bid Day, Best Day!!!!

It's hard to be humble, when you're Queen of the Jungle
My first Bid Day and it REALLY was the BEST day! Lambda Lambda's Bid Day theme was Jungle and the festivities started on campus, at "the green". While the chapter waited for their new members, I was in the auditorium watching all of the new Panhellenic sisters open their bids! You could feel the excitement in the air as over 500 women opened their envelopes to find out which chapter they would be joining.

Newest Lambda Lambda ladies with their bids!
I rounded up all of the new Zetas outside of the auditorium and taught them how to throw the crown and some ZTA chants!
We made our way down to "the green" where all 7 KSU sororities were impatiently waiting for their new members! The new members ran home to their new sisters and after that, the Pi Chis (KSU Recruitment Counselors) got to reveal which sorority they were in after they had to be disaffiliated throughout the recruitment season.

We all headed to the Bid Day venue, a country club that the New Member Committee had transformed to look like a jungle. New members and sisters had so much fun all day! Lambda Lambda welcomed 58 new members into their sisterhood!
Zeta Zeta is our cry we'll be Zetas til we die!
So far life on the road has exceeded all my expectations! I know this is going to be one of the most memorable years of my life, every day is filled with fun and sisterhood and I couldn't ask for a better Fraternity to serve!
The chapter was so sweet and I will most definitely be leaving a piece of my heart in Kennesaw, Georgia with the Lambda Lambda ladies when I leave tomorrow morning!

Next stop,
Sigma Chapter at Baker University in Kansas!
