Planes, Trains, & Automobiles: Tour of North Carolina

As with all things in life, not everything goes as planned! I had my first schedule switch up this past week on the road. While in the air flying from Detroit to Raleigh, I got a little surprise, instead of my original visit I was going to 2 chapters in North Carolina, Eta Tau Chapter, University of North Carolina at Charlotte and then the Delta Gamma chapter at High Point University!

I got off the plane and instead of being picked up by a chapter member because I was now at an airport that was too far away, I hopped in a rental car, got myself some Cookout and made my way to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Since my change in plans was last minute, I needed a place to stay!

Loved getting to work with Province President, Alyssa!

Instead of getting a hotel for the night, I got to spend time with one of my favorite Zetas!

When I was a student at Edinboro University 4 years ago, Alyssa Baker (Godwin, now) came to visit my chapter as a ZTA Consultant! We've kept in touch since then and I consider her not only a Zeta sister, but also a mentor!

She opened up her home to me and showed me some Southern hospitality with a homecooked meal, fresh baked cookies and of course, southern delicacies, Cheerwine and homemade sweet tea. Alyssa has gone from Consultant to Province President (A PP is a ZTA National Officer that oversees multiple collegiate chapters) and happens to be the officer for Eta Tau and Delta Gamma!

Eta Tau Chapter

University of North Carolina at Charlotte

When I arrived at Eta Tau, they were right in the middle of recruitment rounds. Another Consultant, Sharon was already there assisting them and it was great to catch up with her! #SharonZetaLove

{Sisterhood Round}

{Sisterhood Round}

{Philanthropy Round}

This was such a great chance to catch up with Alyssa for a few days! She was actually a member of the Eta Tau chapter and so she showed me all around campus and of course some of her favorite places to eat!

We visited 📍Amelie's, a French bakery, where I was able to get some macaroons {Vanilla Buttercream, Lemon and Spiced Cherry} to go! I also tried their famous salted caramel Brownie and of course, since it is now September, a pumpkin muffin and salted caramel apple cider.

The {Sweetest} Theta Consultants

During my visit to UNC Charlotte, we met some Alpha Kappa Theta consultants who are colonizing a new Theta chapter at the university. We headed to 📍PopBar, a gourmet popsicle bar.

My Bar: Green Tea Gelato with chocolate and hazelnut crumbles

Delta Gamma Chapter

High Point University

High Point University is one of the most gorgeous campuses I have ever set foot on! Almost everywhere you look you will see a beautiful fountain (and maybe even a pool!), the academic buildings are as pretty on the inside as they are on the outside and I loved the white rocking chairs all over (especially the gigantic ones).

Take a look for yourself:

The ladies of Delta Gamma live in a Zeta Tau Alpha house in Greek Village on campus. North Carolina had some absolutely gorgeous weather while I was visiting and I got the chance to hang out by the pool and get some work done.

Delta Gamma's Zeta house is beautiful and while I was there for recruitment prep, it was being completely transformed! The university removes all the furniture from the house so that the women can decorate every inch of space. The three nights I spent there we were up late having dance parties, eating tacos and make paper flowers 👇🏼 (inspired by Joanna Gaines).

Very happy to see Victoria on the road!

Victoria, a fellow LC sister and I got the chance to spend some time together at the same visit! It was so nice, even if it was only for the night, to be able to catch up with someone who understands the ins and outs of this job! #VictoriaVentures

Although I had to leave this chapter before Bid Day occurred, the girls were in full preparation mode for that very special day! The chapter makes "happys" for their new members. The "happys" are just cute little notes that go with the Bid Day theme or have short Zeta sayings on them.

The sisters rush around campus secretly hanging happies on their new member's dorm doors so that when they come home from the craziness of Bid Day they get one more sweet surprise from their new sisters! I got my very own "happy" from the Delta Gamma chapter before I left on Thursday!

Next Stop! Lambda Delta Chapter at

Texas A&M University Corpus-Christi!
