Lambda Delta Chapter
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi

If you've read my blog or asked me before I left for my travels, chances are I told you I was really hoping to visit Texas this year--first month and a half in and I got my wish!

As I was flying over the Gulf on my way to Corpus-Christi on a beautiful, completely cloudless day, I can honestly say I was a little nervous for what I would find here.
It was a weird feeling flying in on such a calm day, admiring all of this natural beauty, when just a week and a half ago, a hurricane was tearing through here. The world is so beautiful, and yet can be so unrelenting at the same time.
Read about our Texas chapters that were affected by Hurricane Harvey in the Fall 2017 issue of Themis.

Texas A&M Corpus Christi Campus
When I first got to the Corpus Christi airport, I was surprised to find it so beachy! I guess my impression of Texas is that everything would be cacti and cowboys and what I found at Corpus was that it was completely coastal.

Corpus Christi Bay Area
The school is actually on an island and their campus is beautiful! Completely surrounded by water, there is only one bridge that you can take to get there.

I will definitely miss all the palm trees!

One of the first things I did when I got to Texas, was of course, try Whataburger. I have never realized how many different fast food places exist all over the country that I've been missing out on; Whataburger was definitely delicious (the first...and second time!)

My roomie during my visit, Peyton!
After everything that has happened in Texas, it was so heartwarming to meet the women of Lambda Delta chapter and really get to know them even if it was only for a few days. They had started out their work week, excited for recruitment until they all had to evacuate and were not allowed on campus for almost 2 weeks.
Coming back from that and having to jump right back into recruitment plus school has been tough on them, but after being in a room with them for just one evening I could feel their sisterhood.

Listening to some kind words from Zeta sisters
On our second day of recruitment the chapter's Province President arrived with her arms full of cards, well-wishes, and goodies for the chapter sent from ZTA collegiates and alumnae from all over the country that were thinking of our Zeta ladies from Texas during this hard time.
You could feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude pouring out from the women and to hear the shock and thankfulness in their voices as Evany told them cards had come from states all over, including Oregon, Washington, California and that Zetas everywhere had them in their thoughts and prayers.
Evany said it best to the ladies of Lambda Delta:
"our sisterhood goes way beyond these walls"
It was an emotional moment to observe and it reaffirms my love of our sisterhood and how special it really is to feel zeta love from miles and miles away.

Being so close to the coast, I had to get some seafood during my visit! Evany I had the chance to catch up over dinner at the Saltwater Grill.

Think Pink, Think Zeta
My flight to Boise left hours before Bid Day, but I was so proud of these ladies and I was happy to hear that they found 29 new members a new home in ZTA💙

Finally! Headed to Boise State University in Idaho to colonize what will be the NEWEST chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity!
So very excited to see so many of my consultant sisters that I've been missing so much and to meet amazing future Zeta Tau Alphas!
