The Newest ZTA Colony! Boise State ZTA
The past 3 weeks I've had the great privilege of serving on the consultant extension team for what will be ZTA's newest chapter at Boise State University!
I have been looking forward to coming to Boise ever since I found out I would be doing extension and colonization there in August when we were still at training! 1) because colonizing a chapter is a huge honor and such an incredible experience to start a chapter from the ground up and watch it grow and 2) because I have been missing my consultant sisters so much and I could not wait to be reunited with a few of them!

I left Corpus Christi, Texas and met up with another consultant, Lindsey at the Dallas airport. I was so happy to see her! We got lunch and got our tickets changed so we could sit together on the plane and catch up. We were so excited to get our first glimpse of the mountains during our flight!

Consultant Team with our Extension Coordinator, Monica
Extension and Colonization means that a team of consultants come to a new university to start a new chapter. We recruit women for 3 weeks and then teach them all of the new member education while simultaneously training them on officer positions so that they can fully take over the chapter this spring.
Experience Zeta Tau Alpha

Zeta rollin into Boise in early September
At Boise State, we started a chapter of over 100 women; we began with a team of 8 consultants (Lindsey, Chelsie, Caroline, Caylee, Kenedy, Kaelin, Kelley and myself) and 3 of us will be staying long term with the chapter to help them build and grow.

Student Orange Out Tailgate
A couple of us got the chance to attend the student tailgate for the Broncos game and participate in the orange out! After our first ZTA week we moved onto "Think Pink, Think Zeta” week to raise awareness for our philanthropy as well as meet some more potential ZTAs!

National Officer Photo;Consultants with some of our E-Team
The week leading up to Bid Day was both busy, yet so exciting! Our Extension Team (E-Team) made up of national officers and our Extension Director flew in for our recruitment events!

I loved getting to work with Mrs. Mathews, Former National President, during the week!

Night 1: Experience ZTA
This past week I also got to work with Jess Meyers, a fellow Pittsburgher, Jess was actually my chapter's Province President when I was a New Member!

Night 2: Think Pink, Think Zeta
Night 2 was all about our National Philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. The PNZs (Potential New Zetas) got the chance to watch our national philanthropy video and do a small ribbon craft that we will be passing out at our Boise Broncos pink out football game later in October.

Night 3: Preference Night
Our University of Nevada: Las Vegas chapter flew to Boise to complete the Preference Ceremony for all of the PNMs at Boise State. It was so fun to meet all of them and share in this special experience.
Boise State Bid Day

Saturday was all about celebration! Celebrating all of the new women who will start this chapter. I'm so excited to be able to stay all year and watch them grow as a chapter and as Zeta Tau Alphas!
Bid Day took place at the Sky Center right above the famous blue Boise State field! We had so much fun getting to know all of the founding sisters better and playing some ice breakers, because this whole chapter is just meeting each other for the first time too. I can't wait to watch them all form friendships and a bond of sisterhood!

I've been on the road since July and now that I'm at an apartment in Boise I have a more permanent address. It has been so nice to check the mail and get some surprises! A card from my parents and one from Hannah, one of my best friends from home!
One day I even received a box full of treats and notes from my Zeta Upsilon chapter sisters. I miss them so much and can't wait to see them at Homecoming!

First Hiking Trip in the Boise Foothills
Our first weekend in Boise we got a chance to do some hiking and visit the local Boise Farmers Market. The Boise foothills are absolutely breathtaking and we really enjoyed our hike to Table Rock on the trails lined with wild sunflowers; it was the perfect day and I can't wait to explore more in the coming months!
Boise Farmers Market
I got some great shots at the Farmers Market! Our whole team ended up going the first weekend and I think Kelley, Kaelin and I are going to make it a tradition for every Saturday morning while we're here!

Farmers Market Finds:
fresh flowers & homemade granola
We couldn't wait to freshen up our new apartment with some fresh flowers and the blueberry pistachio granola I got was the perfect snack during our hike!
pumpkin butter & lavender bath salt
With fall arriving, we couldn't resist some homemade pumpkin butter for
our morning toast!
