Top 5 Things I did over break:

Being on the road since July has been nothing but fun; I've met so many amazing Zetas, seen a lot of new places and had exciting experiences but it was definitely fun to finally get to come home during my fall break!

1. Spent time with Friends and Family

I've been writing postcards and FaceTiming to stay in touch with all of my family and friends but it was so great to see them in person instead of through a screen!

While I was away, my cousins Erika and Andrew had their third child, Neil Luca!

I loved getting to meet him and especially spend time with his big brother and sister who take up a huge place in my heart!

My family loves a good game night! While I was on break we played quite a few games, dominos and scrabble were a given! One night my grandma made homemade wedding soup with her handmade noodles—tasted just like home!

2. 1st Edinboro Homecoming as an Alumna!

Homecoming is more fun when you're an alum!

Homecoming has always been one of my favorite weekends! Through high school and college I’ve always loved dressing up, going to football games, the parades and the fact that it was finally fall!

This Homecoming was a special one! I just graduated in May and so this was my first homecoming as an alumna!

Annual Zeta Alumnae Picture on the Parade Route

I drove to Edinboro Friday afternoon, after a quick stop in Slippery Rock for lunch with my cousin and got to see all my college friends, Zeta sisters, roommates and my old house that I lived in for 3 years!

I didn’t realize how much I missed the Boro; our small college town holds so many great people and memories in it. Saturday, I spent the day at the parade and all over town reconnecting with friends and even some family members who live in Boro and attend college there now.

3. Mother Daughter Date in Pittsburgh

{Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens}

I've missed my mom so much and for two of the days I was home my mom took off work so we could spend some time together before I head back on the road!

First stop was Phipps in Pittsburgh! We spent a few hours walking through the different conservatories and gardens; including the Desert Room, The Congo Rainforest Room and a fall favorite, the Harvest Room.

Old-Fashioned {Chocolate} High Tea

Next, we headed over to the Omni William Penn Hotel for afternoon tea! If you know me, you know I love tea, so this was right up my alley! Our high tea was complete with finger sandwiches, macaroons and real old-fashioned sugar cubes!

4. Steeler Sunday

It was great being home for the Steeler game and getting to watch it with my family and some friends! My parents made a ton of tailgate food, including my dad's famous wings!

5. Pittsburgh Opera

After missing my connection from Chicago to Pittsburgh, I was lucky I even made it to the Opera! The first thing I did when I got back was head to the Benedum Center to meet up with one of my oldest friends, Taylor and her mom, who is also friends with my mom! It was a great start to my break!

I had such a great time at home--it was just what I needed! I can't wait to come back for Thanksgiving and Christmas but it's time to head back to Boise!
