Theta Delta Chapter

Salisbury University

Maryland

Lots of love for Sammy

After quite a few flight delays I finally made it to my last visit of my first year as a Leadership Consultant, at Salisbury University in Maryland! I had so much fun meeting all the sisters of Theta Delta (even though they booed me at chapter when they found out I was a Pens/Steeler fan😂).

My last visit was full of ZTA events, great weather and so much sisterhood!

Salisbury Relay for life

First thing on the schedule with Theta Delta was attending my very first Relay for Life! Such an incredible event that the American Cancer Society puts on; I had a great time raising money and awareness with the chapter.

Zeta's Finding Nemo

If you've never been to a Relay for Life event, a community works together to strive towards the common goal of fighting any and all types of cancer and celebrating the lives of survivors and those who have lost their battles.

Everyone in attendance stays up until 6am participating in the hours of scheduled events. This year's overall theme was "Disney" and ZTA picked Finding Nemo.

Pie-a-Guy

All of Greek Life and many other clubs set up tables with activities and events all throughout the quad. There was Pie-A-Guy, Zumba, a Corn Hole Tournament, Disney Karaoke, contests, games and my favorite, deep fried Oreos!

Over the weekend, my roomie, Jaymie and her (actual) roomie, Grisel took me to Ocean City Beach for the day! It was an absolutely beautiful day and Jaymie and Grisel are both OCMD natives, so it was really nice of have both of hem to show me all the best places to experience!

Daycation

Everyone was out over the weekend flying kites and enjoying the sun. We walked the beach and went to the pier; we had to try out all the local places and made our way to the Boardwalk.

Along the walk, we stopped at Dumser's Dairy for some chocolate dip ice cream and then Thrasher's for their famous fries! Of course, with some added salt and vinegar.

The last stop of the day was Higgins Crab House! I love seafood, but until this visit I had never had "real Maryland-style crabs". Jaymie and Grisel spent the entire dinner laughing at me as I tried to figure out how to open these small delicacies!

Old Bay with a side of Maryland Crabs

I finally got the hang of it, and it was one of the most delicious dinners I've had on the road. Crabs drenched in Old Bay and Hush Puppies smothered in powdered sugar, what could be better?!

I had the chance to attend all the officer meetings and get a tour of campus. I loved meeting with all the sisters, trying some really great açaí bowls, and getting to have a personal trainer all week (shout out Jaymie)!

Thank you Theta Delta for an amaZing last visit of the year that I will never forget!

Next stop, Zeta Tau Alpha's NEW International Office to FINALLY see all of my consultant sisters and International Office Staff!❤️
