Nu Chapter

The University of Alabama

My first visit of the year had me headed to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the University of Alabama with fellow consultant, Mackenzie! Roll Tide!

Nu is one of our oldest chapters! They are our 12th chapter out of 253 and they were established in 1910! They are the second sorority to come to Alabama and they built the first sorority house on campus.

The Brand "Nu" House

Last year, Nu Chapter got a brand new house on Sorority Row. My visit was 3 weeks long, I got there during Work Week and I got to stay throughout recruitment and Bid Day. The house is gorgeous and I loved getting to stay there and get to know the women!

I stayed in the adorable guest room! Mackenzie and I got the sweetest welcome packages when we arrived and were spoiled the whole time we were there with t-shirts and so much Zeta swag!

Work Week

Work Week at Alabama was so much fun! The women had various speakers and workshops in addition to all their fun themes, treats, prizes and sisterhood activities!

The overall theme for Work Week was Girl Power; and then there was also ZLAM day where everyone dressed up in their ZTA best and Galax-Z day!

Every day there was a sweet treat at Work Week! Steel City gourmet pops, Baked Bear brought in ice cream sandwiches, a snow cone truck parked at the side of the house and then Babe's Donuts--some of the best I've ever had!

Daycation @📍North River Yacht Club

Mid-week we took a little break to have a pool day! Gabby and I went to high school together and it has been so much fun to hang out with her in Alabama and share so much sisterhood!

Roll Tide Recruitment The University of Alabama has the largest Sorority Recruitment in the country, with over 2,000 women at the University looking for their home.

Welcome to the Zeta Tau Alpha House, Come On In! We started out the week of recruitment with 2 days of Ice Water Teas. Every women attended open house parties at all 18 Sorority Houses on Greek Row. It was the beginning of a long, but exciting week!

This is the chapter's 2nd year recruiting out of their beautiful brand new house and they were excited to show it off!

Think Pink, Think Zeta

Round 2 brought Philanthropy! The room was covered in pink roses and ribbons. One of my favorite things was an interactive "chalkboard" screen that was up front where sisters and Potential New Members could write the names of breast cancer survivors, those passed and those still fighting! I made sure to sign for my mom💕

Had to snag a picture with Alabama's sweet President, Julia! The world needs more of her!

Sisterhood round was by far my favorite round! The room looked amazing with all the white leather furniture and DJ Reggie in the back keeping us all hype throughout the day!

Recruitment Chair, Mariana was amazing to work with all week!

Nu's Preference Ceremony was beautiful; from the decor to the singers, every thing was perfect. Membership Advisor, Ashley and I may have shed a tear as we watched from the back!

Team Nu

I loved working with the Team Nu advisory board and got to meet two sweet legacies!

Bama Bid Day, Best Day

Every Zeta's favorite day is Bid Day! The day we get to welcome more women into our sisterhood and Bid Day at Bama is nothing short of a campus-wide celebration.

Each sorority women runs home behind their new letters amidst cheers from their parents, grandparents, cousins and Tuscaloosa locals!

The VP2, Payton did an absolutely amazing job working with her team to plan the best bid day these New Members could've asked for!

Nothing Like That Bid Day Hug!

ZTA became home for 119 "Nu" Members!👑

only the best get crowned!

After the excitement of Bid Day on the row, the New Members ran back to their dorms with their bid day bigs, packing lists in hand, to get ready for their overnight retreat!

We loaded busses, packed up all the snacks and headed to Birmingham! Our first stop was ZetaFest!

The chapter hosted their very own music festival! Complete with a bunch of food trucks, a glitter station, professional hair braiding, photo booths and a DJ!

Everyone was starving after a long day of running home and the food trucks were perfect! My favorite was the gourmet pop truck (I may have visited more than once). I love Dr. Pepper and I had the DP with coconut and raspberry puree!😋

Had to hit up the glitter station before the dance floor!

The New Members had SO much fun! After visiting all the stations it was hard to get them off the dance floor and out from under the confetti cannons at the end of the night!

ZLAMMMM💙

Shoutout to the amazing VP2 and New Member team for all their hardworking making this night one to remember for these newest ZTA sisters!

After a week of recruitment and bid day celebrations I definitely took a long nap but was excited to get to explore a little bit of Alabama's campus and downtown Tuscalooa before my next visit.

Some of my favorite places:

Monarch Expresso Bar

I spent a whole day here getting work done! Their homemade strawberry pop tarts made me want to spend another.

Rama Jama's

Right next to the stadium, this place was decked out in Roll Tide fashion. I had the National Champ BLT which has 17 pieces of bacon on it, one for every National Championship Alabama's won!

📍River On one of my last nights in Alabama, I got together with Gabby, fellow Zeta sister and Eli, a Pike at UA, who also happens to be friends with my little brother. Gabby, Eli and I are all from the same hometown and all of our parents are friends! Such a small world!

📍Bryant-Denny Stadium

Such an incredible visit with Nu Chapter! I've learned so much, made friendships that will last beyond collegiate ZTA and gotten a taste of southern sorority culture! Couldn't have asked for a better way to start off my year!

Zeta Love + Roll Tide!!!

Next Stop!

Back to the north to visit with Delta Delta chapter at Baldwin Wallace in Ohio!
