The past two weeks in Virginia have been so fun! I visited two Universities in Virginia (with a small detour to Ohio in between), Christopher Newport University and James Madison University!

Kappa Phi Chapter

Cristopher Newport University

Newport News, Virginia

📍CNU Quad

My first return visit (not including my station at Boise State last year) and it was so much fun! I think Christopher Newport University has one of the most beautiful campuses with one of the sweetest Zeta chapters!

My first stop was a few meetings. The women had a sweet welcome {back} added into their presentation! It was really neat to see women I had met and talked with last year about their goals and ideas and then to come back a couple months later and discuss their progress!

📍Byrd's Cafe

Another great thing about a return visit is getting to eat at all of the best spots you discovered the first time around! I know my LC sister, Bibi who visited a few times last year would agree that Byrd's Cafe is one of the best brunch places!

Ritual Chair, Emily and I had our meeting over Cinnamon Roll pancakes and Banana Nut bread French Toast--no better way!

Labor Day this year was spent with a special + thoughtful sister and friend, Madison, who is always so welcoming to every Consultant that visits Kappa Phi! We spent one of the most perfect last few days of summer heat at Virginia Beach!

Happy 1st Day, Love ZTA!

As everyone nows, ZTA's National Philanthropy is Breast cancer education and awareness and all of our chapters participate in Think Pink events in support all year. But, one of the coolest things about visiting chapters is to see what else they're donating their time doing.

So, on Tuesday morning I got up very early to meet up with some sisters and head over to Hindenwood Elementary School.

All of Greek Life at CNU makes signs and lines the walkway leading to the school to cheer on students as they walk in for their first day of school. The children were ecstatic and getting as many high fives as they could on the way in!

Let the Stars Guide You Home to Zeta🌟

While I was visiting I got to help with some informal recruitment events the chapter was planning! Recruitment Chair Morgan is absolutely amazing and so fun to work with! We put together an outdoor movie night for the chapter's first event of the fall!

Thanks for Poppin' into Zeta!

We had some great conversations, yummy snacks and watched To All the Boys I Loved Before, the latest Netflix craze!

On my last day on campus, I walked past this quote. I'm so thankful for Zeta Tau Alpha and the amazing opportunities I've had the last 2 years because of this organization.

Gamma Kappa Chapter

James Madison University

Harrisonburg, Virginia

Go Dukes!

My second chapter visit in Virginia brought me to James Madison University in

Harrisonburg! Unfortunately, with the bad hurricane weather the east coast has been experiencing my visit got cut short and I was only able to be there for 2 days!

I stayed on Greek Row in the ZTA house! I was welcomed by an adorable gift basket and card from ΓK! The row is right next to the stadium and the houses are stretched around one side of the lake on campus.

Even though I only got to stay in Harrisonburg for a short time I still had the chance to explore a little of their historic downtown and try some unique food! On my first night, the chapter president took me to a local burger house.

PB Burger

All of their burgers are special, no plain cheeseburgers are served there. I tried the Elvis burger which had cheese, mayo, bacon and peanut butter on it, I was skeptical at first, but it was actually pretty good!

Mexican Street Corn + Short Rib Mandarin Taco

On my second and final night, the Ritual Chairman, also named Alison (weird because this is the 3rd Alison I've met this year who spells their name the correct, yet uncommon way) took me to Magnolia, a trendy taco bar--It was delish!

I only had the chance to meet with a few officers and sisters during my visit, but I wish I was able to stay for recruitment and Bid Day because these Zeta ladies are amazing and have been planning some great things for their chapter this semester!

I even got to go to a pop up sisterhood event with some of the sisters at Kline's Dairy Bar--had the best peanut butter milkshake!

Thanks for the visit, James Madison--I will miss yoU!

Next Up, headed to the University of Cincinnati to re-establish our Alpha Eta chapter!
