Alpha Eta Chapter

University of Cincinnati

Extension Reactivation

Last year, I got to work closely with one of ZTA's newest chapters, Lambda Omicron, at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. I had such a great experience working on Extension and I was so excited to see another one on my schedule this year at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio!

The Bearcats ❤️ ZTA

In 1921 the original University of Cincinnati ZTA Chapter, Alpha Eta was established as our 32nd chapter and then in the 1990's ended up closing. We were so excited to be coming back to campus to re-establish the chapter almost 30 years later!

Earlier in the month of September, I flew into Cincinnati to present during round one of UC's Panhellenic Recruitment. It was so much fun to work with our Extension Manager, Monica again, work with fellow LC, Michelle and meet National Officer, Meredith Braselman.

Bid Day is one of my favorite holidays and although our Zeta chapter wasn't formed yet, Panhellenic invited us to come check out the other chapter's Bid Day celebrations. It was really fun to walk down Main Street, watch women run home and see all of the different themes!

TLCLAM👑✈️

We got such a warm welcome by the Panhellenic community and especially by UC's Director of Sorority and Fraternity Life, Traci! She just so happens to also be a ZTA who served as a Traveling Leadership Consultant after she graduated!

📍University of Cincinnati

A week later, and I was back and on campus with the Consultant Extension Team!

Chelsie and I were both on the Boise State Extension team and we were both excited to be working together again! We stayed in the LC apartment with another sister, T and were roomies.

It's always so much fun getting to meet up with LC sisters on the road! There were 8 of us ready to bring the Crown back to the Queen City! Jessie, Bibi, Jordan, Taylor, Chelsie, T, Marilyn and myself!

Cupcakes with the Consultants

We loved spending time on campus and doing presentations, like Cupcakes to meet the women who could be potential ZTAs as well as make connections with our Panhellenic sisters at UC!

Think Pink, Think Zeta

Our second week on campus was dedicated to our philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness!

We held our Think Pink event, complete with Giant Jenga, Corn Hole and treats! And of course, we passed out pink ribbons to every one on UC's campus!

To finish out the Extension process, our amazing and dedicated Alumnae joined us in Cincinnati! It is so much fun to work with them!💙

I especially love getting to work with Mrs. Dolores Gastineau! ZTA's Extension Director, who is in charge of starting and overseeing all of Zeta's new chapters. We worked closely while I was at Boise State and it was such a treat to get to do it again at UC!

Go Bearcats!!!

Friday on campus and Saturday at the football game, we wore our black and red to cheer on the Bearcats! An exciting game ended in a win over state-rival, Ohio University!

After the game, Chelsie (an Ohio native) insited that we stop at Skyline Chili, which apparently is a Cincinnati delicacy. I was not too into it, but the other girls seemed to like it! Maybe next time😉

Aside from Skyline, there are so many amazing local foods in the city of Cincinnati!

📍A Tavola, Had some of the best Italian I've had on the road! Handmade noodles and sauce with fresh ricotta makes for the perfect meal.

📍Holtman's Donuts, The Eagle and Greater's, All famous Ohio establishments and for good reason! Holtman's offered some delicious donuts, especially the Cinnamon Toast Crunch one and Greater's was a must! The Blueberry Pie ice cream is amazing and the Buckeyes were good too, except I will say my grandma's has theirs beat!

📍S'Mores Bar A cool little dessert bar dedicated to S'mores! They flame the marshmallows right in front of you; I had the chocolate covered strawberry and my friend, Courtney had the Cosmic Brownie!

Courtney is one of my best friends from high school! She lives in Cincinnati this year as she finishes up her last year of graduate school! It has been so much fun being able to hang out with her a little bit while I was in the area. We got lunch and coffee a few times and even had the chance to play some trivia!

Cinci Chicks

During our weekend break in between PR Weeks, we took some time to explore the city! We finally got a whole team photo by the Kentucky/Cincinnati bridge!

Our last photo as a group of 5 second years as we celebrated Marilyn heading off the road and starting her new job as a swim coach.

📍Condado Tacos

We headed to Condado's after exploring the city a little! This famous Ohio Mexican restaurant is just like subway but with tacos! We enjoyed creating our own and sampling the different types of salsas and quesos that they had to offer!

Let's Go Pens!

I was definetly missing home while in Cincinnati! I was so excited to find a Pittsburgh-themed establishment just in time for some pre-season Penguins hockey!

For Sunday dinner at the apartment, I was sure to make some homemade sauce for our team! The whole apartment smelled like home! Just in time too, because my next stop was fall break with my friends and family!

Next stop, home sweet home!
