University of Texas at Tyler

Tyler, Texas

Home Sweet Home

After a wonderful week at home I was headed to Texas! A fall break complete with Edinboro Homecoming, a Steeler Sunday full of festivities, the first Pens game of the season (with an OT win over the CapitalsđŸ™ŒđŸŒ), and lots of game nights, ice cream walks and dinner dates with my friends and family!

Deep in the Heart of Tyler, Texas Tyler, Texas is a quaint little town about an hour outside of Dallas and also happens to be one of the newest homes of ZTA!

Heading to Tyler also meant I got to be reunited with another LC sister! Lauren picked me up from the airport. Our first order of business.. Whataburger, second, searching for Taylor Swift tickets!

The next day we headed to Dallas for the show! We grabbed dinner at 'Texas Live', a sports and live music bar and grill that houses several restaurants and plasma TVs for games and events. We had street tacos at 📍Guy Fieri's Taco Joint and they were amazing!

T Swift, Look what you made us do...

It just so happened to be Taylor Swift's LAST night of the US tour in Dallas and we were so lucky to get tickets! We had pretty good seats and had a great view of one of the side stages she performed on halfway through.

She's got a big reputation!

I've always loved T Swift; this was my 3rd concert and she never ceases to amaze me! It was really cool to see the tour in the 📍AT&T Stadium, where the Dallas Cowboys play!

Had to grab a Polaroid before the show started!📾

Back in Tyler, I was so excited to meet the newest Zetas at UT Tyler! While I was in Cincinnati earlier in September recruiting for our new chapter at University of Cincinnati, another team of LCs were in Tyler building another new chapter!

Even though I was only in Texas for about a week, it was so much fun getting to know these ladies and hear why they decided to be founding sisters at UT Tyler!

I got to attend a chapter meeting, hang out with them on campus and help with their first service project! We made tie blankets and care baskets for breast cancer patients going through chemo.

One of the best things about TX is the food and I took full advantage!

Lauren made sure to take me to all the best places around town! We had 📍Stanley's Pit Bar-B-Q which were some of the best ribs I've ever had, they just fell off the bone.

I had my fair share of Tex Mex street taco meals; in particular, 📍Torchy's Tacos, was SO good! Street corn, queso and Mexican Soda paired nicely with the tacos!

In Queso you were wondering, the chips and cheese are better in Texas😍

Spread a Little Kindness One Cake at a Time

📍Janie's Cakes, a local mother-daughter owned bakery was a must-stop while I was in Tyler! Offering a variety of petite bundt cakes, I tried the Chipper, a chocolate chip cake with vanilla bean cream--yum!!

AH! A brunch that will be hard to forget. Upon arriving we were greeted at our table by our waiter with a plate of candied bacon to try... AMAZING! (note the very clean plate in the middle of the table). My omelet and Lauren's waffle weren't too shabby either.

📍The Grove

Brunch was made possible by The Grove, a restaurant, market, event space that is truly fit for a Queen...I mean Zeta. Just look at all those crowns!

UT Tyler ZTA, you made my visit SO happy!

After such a fun week hanging with Lauren and getting to know the newest Zetas I am currently in the airport headed to Saint Louis University in Missouri!
