Eta Zeta Chapter

Elon University

Elon, North Carolina

Right before heading to Kansas City I had a short but sweet visit to Eta Zeta Chapter at Elon University in North Carolina! I stayed in the Zeta House on campus with 13 other sisters!

Go Phoenix!

I arrived on campus just in time for Homecoming! The school threw a huge tailgate and it was so much fun meeting some alumnae sisters at the ZTA tent!

Although I was only at Eta Zeta for a few short days it was so nice to get to soak in some fall weather, explore their down town and local coffee shops and get to know some of their officers☺️

Delta Chi Chapter

William Jewell College

Kansas City, Missouri

Go Cards! I got to William Jewell College in the evening and saw my first snow of the fall semester! It may have been a chilly arrival, but it was such a warm welcome at Delta Chi Chapter! They got me settled into my room in the Panhellenic building and we headed out for some Thai food!

Home Sweet Home The chapter has a really beautiful wing in the Panhellenic suites. I love staying in ZTA Housing because you get to know the sisters so well and every home is so unique! Before I left, I made sure to sign their chapter guest book!😍

FRED Fact:

Every chapter has it's own special history. Our Delta Chi chapter actually started out as a completely different sorority! In the 1960's National Sorority, Beta Sigma Omicron had to disband and ZTA absorbed several of it's chapters, including the, then, Alpha Psi Chapter at William Jewell College.

After the absorption, Alpha Psi became Delta Chi chapter of ZTA. Today, the chapter still pays homage to their original roots, I got to see photos of the Beta Sigma Omicron women who would soon become Zetas and some of their Sorority's jewelry.

Delta Chi has about 50 members, close to my home chapter size! I loved getting to met each and everyone one of them! Every morning, a group would take me to a different local breakfast spot! (My fav was the Carmel Pumpkin Cheesecake Crepe)

Over the weekend I got to attend the chapter's Sisterhood Retreat! We headed to one of the sisters, Maria's house, where her parents had made an amazing pasta dinner for us all!

The chapter had some fun activities planned for the night. Maria is the current recruitment chair and we got to facilitate a workshop to help the chapter get ready for recruitment in January!

We ended the night with some "Warm & Fuzzies"!❤️

Sisters, Sarah and Sara made sure I got to do some exploring during my visit! Saturday night was spent allll over Kansas City. We started with an amazing dinner at Brio, an Italian restaurant in the city.

📍Made in KC

Next, we headed to the 'Made in Kansas City' Marketplace' and the inspiration for this blog title, because I adored it so much! An indoor market, full of local KC vendors, a plant nursery and some really great ice cream!

I was in Kansas City during Veterans Day and so we had to stop at the 📍Liberty Memorial. To honor the lives lost in WWI, the Liberty Memorial was all lit up in poppies.

There was a projection show every 15 minutes with a slideshow of pictures to remember our Vets. It truly was a sight to see!

There were really pretty views all around the Memorial and we ended up walking right down the hill to the red, white and blue lit up building, the Union Station.

It was so much fun to really get in the Christmas spirit and walk around the train station looking at all the trees and holiday decorations.

Good Food, Better Company

The next morning, I was back in Kansas City! This time, visiting with a Consultant sister! Miranda lives in KC and is finishing up student teaching, she'll hit the road after the holidays and I'm so excited.

After a delicious French toast brunch, we stopped at the City Market. Lattes in hand, we walked around the chilly farmers market.

It was so nice to catch up with Miranda and have her show me around her hometown! It's official, I've fallen in love with a new city!

NEXT UP!

Before heading home, I have a quick stop at Kappa Phi Chapter in Newport News, VA to help them get ready for recruitment in January!
