Guns Up for Gamma Tau!!

My 3rd visit in the great state of Texas brought me to the town of Lubbock, home of Texas Tech University!

President, Chloe and her roommate Alex picked me up from the airport on my first night in town. They welcomed me with an adorable basket full of treats!

Sweet President Chloe + I at the ZTA Lodge

Lubbock is a cute little town in the Panhandle of Texas, where dust storms are a reality and I saw my first tumbleweed roll across the road!

Chloe was kind enough to let me use her car for the week, which was great because I was able to explore the area a little bit and find out what's Made in LBK.

📍Sugar Browns Coffee I love a good local coffee shop and sugar brown's and the coffee shop did not disappoint! I'm normally a matcha girl, but decided to try the coffee shop's beet root latte, it was surprisingly really good!

I mean, who can pass up a pink latte?!

By far the sweetest place I went to was a dessert bar called Crave! I had a

S'mores Bomboloni, an Italian deep fried donut. (I'm definitely craving this as I'm typing😋)

I loved getting to know the chapter women of Gamma Tau and I got to be there for an informal recruitment event to help them add to their sisterhood! We had a trivia night at the lodge.

Breaking Ground on Greek Circle 11!

The chapter is so excited because coming next fall they will be getting a brand new house!

I love getting to see some of ZTA's beautiful houses all over the country. They are always so pretty and full of Zeta history. I got to look through some scrapbooks and cabinets while I was visiting, but my favorite thing was a little hidden gem.

The House Manager, Madison, gave me a tour of the lodge and showed me a storage hallway behind the chapter room. Alumnae over a many number of years have signed the walls with farewells, advice, and in honor of's.

Mentor, Leslie took me back through the hallway again later in the week to show me some of the Zelebrities who I may have missed. It was so cool getting to see our past Executive Director, Deb Ensor's message to Gamma Tau chapter from so many years ago.

It truly shows the time and effort that our staff and volunteers put in over the years makes a difference.

Mentor, Leslie Brockman ChuntA

One of my favorite things about this job is getting to meet alumnae who share my passion for leadership development. Gamma Tau has the pleasure of working with this exceptional Mentor, Leslie! I learned so much from her (especially that Thin Mints are better frozen) in the 2 days we got to spend together and I hope our paths cross again soon!

Kicking off EC Retreat with a group lunch!

I'm not always the most emotional person, however, there have been multiple times on the road where I have been hit with so much emotion because I get to see first hand the power of the sorority experience.

I hear "Feels like Home" at a Pref ceremony and watch the seniors hug one another and tears are brought to my eyes, I listen to a story during a candle pass from a sophomore who feels like they never fit in finally found a home in their sisterhood.

Gamma Tau Executive Committee 2019

But on this visit, I sat at an EC Retreat for a few hours and I got chills as I listened to 13 members of Gamma Tau Chapter talk about the issues in their chapter and their goals to change that. They are a dedicated group that truly understands servant leadership. I am so happy to have met and gotten to know Chloe, Nadia, Meredith, Tarah, Rachel, Callie, Ashlyn, Katie, Calleigh, Sydney, Brooke, Madison, and Katelyn; they have impacted me as an LC and I am so grateful for this visit to Texas Tech ZTA.

Keep in touch, ladies!

NEXT STOP...

Leaving behind the warm weather in Texas and headed to Tennessee for the first time to visit the ladies of Iota Chi Chapter!
