Iota Chi Chapter
Middle Tennessee State University
Nashville, Tennesse

It's always fun to explore a new place; and I finally got to cross Tennessee off my list with a visit to Iota Chi!

MTSU is in the town of Murfreesboro! They had a lot of really cute local places. Sisters, Quinn and Alex took me to the Soda Bar; a cute little old-fashioned soda (I mean pop) shoppe!

šThe Soda Bar--I tried the Prickly Pear Pop!
Conveniently attached to The Soda Bar, was the cutest little southern shop; Homegrown Marketplace. We walked through as we finished our drinks.

Hattie Jane's had some of the best cookies and cream ice cream I've ever had!

Iota Chi Executive Council
My first visit to Iota Chi was focused on getting to know all of their officers and chapter members. During this second visit, I got to facilitate an EC Retreat with the 12 members that make up their team!

We worked on team building, goal planning, talked about Servant Leadership and obviously had to sprinkle in some sisterhood!

I had each officer come up and sit in front of the white board and everyone had to write nice things about each other. The women made me sit down before we left for a group lunch--and it was such a sweet ending to our retreat!
I'm so grateful for this job and the opportunity to work with such special young leaders!

šNASH
Over the weekend, Zeta sister, Anna and I explored Nashville, Tennessee! I've always wanted to go to Nash, so this was something I had been looking forward to since my last visit to MTSU!

š12 South
Our first stop in the city was 12 South. It was the cutest street and totally not what I was expecting in a big city. There were shops, cafes and restaurants; we even passed by as church was letting out. There's no better word than 'quaint' to describe 12 South!

Reese Witherspoon happens to have a boutique right on 12 South, Draper James. As soon as we walked in we were offered sweet tea--I couldn't think of a more southern thing!

We headed to the famous 5 Daughters Bakery for breakfast! It was a beautiful day and the shop had a lot of outdoor seating (with all kinds of photo ops!).
5 Daughters is known for their 100 layer donuts (a hybrid between a donut and a croissant). I had the chocolate raspberry ganache with raspberry custard and Anna had the cream cheese everything!

Next, we headed to the heart of the city: Broadway. We parked the car and walked across the bridge, which had a gorgeous view of the city.

We walked up and down Broadway which was such an experience! There was music streaming out of every restaurant and honky tonk for blocks.

We strolled down the Music City Walk of Fame and spotted the country music stars from every generation; Elvis, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, and Loretta Lynn were just a few.

I made sure to snag a picture of the Johnny Cash star for my dad!

We ended the day with dinner at Toot's before heading back to the Zeta house! I got the Nashville hot chicken--but was warned to get the mild.

šBNA
On my way out of Nashville, I got to catch up with fellow LC sister, Kim! This was the first time in 2 years of traveling that I finally ran into another LC in the airport--and I'm so happy it was Kim!ā¤ļø
